For the theatrical production Midnight by Todrick Hall, IVY + BEAU were commissioned to design, curate, and install a series of bespoke floral wheelbarrow installations for one of the show’s central musical numbers. Our role encompassed full creative direction — from sourcing each bloom to crafting the overall floral landscape and preparing the pieces for seamless integration into the live performance.
Drawing inspiration from the Southern Texas springtime landscape, we created arrangements that felt wild, unruly, and emotionally alive — a poetic nod to expanses of open fields and wildflowers in full bloom. The florals were selected for their movement, texture, and natural charm, allowing the installations to embody both place and mood while harmonising with the narrative arc of the production.
The result was a set of emotive, transportive floral pieces that brought a vivid sense of seasonality and storytelling to the stage, enhancing the visual world of Midnight and enriching the audience’s experience.
